A Big Thanks to the Wonderful Kids of Camp Del Corazon!
By Jim Ouimet
Our mushers and dogs were able to give the kids and staff an experience of a lifetime.
On the weekend of March 11-12, 2006, we had the great privilege of meeting the wonderful kids and
staff of Camp Del Corazon (CDC) while they visited the Mammoth Mountain Ski Resort. We spent two days
taking the kids and staff on exhilarating sled dog rides through the Eastern Sierra.
The kids, all from California, Nevada, and Arizona, toughed out the cold temperatures with great enthusiasm to
experience dog mushing with us. Wrapped up in our sheep skins, our mushers and dogs were able to give the kids and
staff an experience of a lifetime.
We would like to especially thank the kids, who's enthusiasm cheered our day. We would also like to thank the CDC
staff for their hard work and dedication to make this event so successful. And finally, we would like to thank the
Eastern Sierra Disabled Sport Center for supporting Camp Del Corazon's mission, making this
event successful.
Camp Del Corazon provides recreational opportunities for children who have been diagnosed with Heart Disease. For
